Mezzo-Soprano AUDREY JOHNSON is thrilled to be a part of this very special performance of Handel’s Messiah.
Ms. Johnson is a frequent performer with the Sanfilippo Foundation’s Place de la Musique Concert Series in the Chicago area. Other local projects and collaborations include Opera for the Young and the world premiere of Chicago composer Ronald Hill’s song cycle, Sac Prarie People.
Recent engagements outside of the Chicago area include concert performances with the Philharmonisches Kammerorchester in Wernigerode, Germany, the role of Mrs. De Rocher in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking with Shreveport Opera, the Wiesbaden Wagner Verband Stipendium Konzert in Wiesbaden, Germany, the Beethoven Mass in C with the Texarkana Symphony and the Artist in Residence program with Shreveport Opera, which featured Ms. Johnson as Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Additional operatic roles include Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, Le Prince Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillon with MetroWest Opera, Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel with the Crested Butte Music Festival, and Prinz Orlofsky in Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus with the New York Lyric Opera Theatre.
Ms. Johnson is additionally engaged in frequent concert performances throughout Germany.
