Spencer Lent has been the assistant conductor of Voices in Harmony since 2015. Active in music from a young age, Mr. Lent was a member of the Green Bay Boy Choir for eleven years. During his tenure in the boy choir, he performed in an opera as a choirboy in Tosca as well as on tours with the choir in Michigan, San Francisco, and the British Isles. While in the choir, he sang under the direction of such esteemed conductors as James Litton, Bob Chilcott and Weston Noble, all who helped influence his career path.
Mr. Lent attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education. While attending Millikin, he was active in many musical activities. In addition to singing in choirs such as the esteemed University Choir, he was also a member of a vocal jazz ensemble, the Tudor Voices, and the Multicultural Voices of Praise gospel choir, which he also directed.
Mr. Lent is currently the choir director at Blackhawk Middle School in Bensenville. He has also taught private voice and piano lessons for many years. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Vanessa and daughter Sabrina. He also enjoys reading, cooking, watching the Packers and Cubs, and singing and listening to music.
